Monoï de Tahiti is the first cosmetic product to have obtained a Designation of Origin. It is a label which attests to the selection and Polynesian origin of the natural ingredients which compose it: coconut and Tiare flower. Established by a decree in 1992, the Appellation of Origin protects and promotes Monoï de Tahiti and thus allows its manufacturing to be maintained according to Polynesian tradition.

In our care line, Monoï de Tahiti can be used alone or included in the composition of certain products alongside other ingredients. The very particular scent of Monoï comes from the mixture of fresh tiare flowers, picked at the bud stage, and coconuts harvested in the green coconut groves of Polynesia , selected and dried in the sun. The flowers are macerated (at the latest the day after the day of their harvest and at a rate of 10 flowers per liter) in copra oil, obtained by pressing. 

Unlike virgin coconut oil which comes from the fresh pulp of the coconut, copra oil uses the dried, refined and deodorized pulp.  After a minimum of ten days of maceration, the tiaré flowers distill their precious aroma into the oil, to obtain the real Monoï de Tahiti.
